First, this plugin fills a much-needed gap in WP — it's very, very nice to be able to have a pending revision for an already published page. WP offers no other way to do this that I'm aware of…short of making a draft page and copy-and-pasting the content to it until later. So, thanks!
Perhaps adding a second button next to "Update Post" labeled "Save Pending Revision" if the "Pending Revisions" option is enabled? I was a little surprised this was not possible directly when I read the description of the "Pending Revisions" option on the plugin settings page. If it is dependent on the option then it doesn't clutter the UI for people who don't need pending revisions. Or if you're really concerned about UI clutter, add another setting to explicitly enable the button or not.
Here is the use case:
Editor of a page wants to make changes that are going to published in the future, but the date is not known yet. The changes might be large enough that he/she wants to start working on it now, save their progress and then publish it later when it is the right time. Having to set a schedule date means you have to set the date way out in the future to ensure that it doesn't get accidentally published. Or, as I mentioned, set the date and then immediately unschedule it.
