HI=i, I solved the problem myself. Sorry for the inconvenience, I no longer require assistance.

Hi, This is my first post so I'm sorry if this has already been asked. These plugins are GREAT and I think they are probably exactly what I need but I'm quite sure how to use them they way I need to.

I'm designing a website for my school newspaper and using Wordpress as its backbone. The goal is for every student to be able to login, write articles through the Wordpress interface, and submit them for review. Once the articles have been submitted a faculty advisor checks the article for inappropriate content and approves/edits the posts. Essentially I want each student to be a "contributor." The only problem is "Contributors" don't have most of the formatting and image options  that "authors" and everyone up has. Since images are really important to our articles I want to find a way to promote all students to the role of "author" (for the image and formatting options) , or a custom defined role, but use a plugin to restrict "authors" user permissions so their articles require admin review in order to be posted. I have played around with the plugin and it seems like it should be able to restrict an "Author's" post permissions but I'm not sure how to go about doing this.

Thanks for the help,

Jonathan

I'm glad to hear you solved it; sorry I didn't find the time to reply sooner. As I understand your usage, the simplest solution would be to use a role-editing plugin such as Capability Manager to add the upload_files capability to the Contributor role. Role Scoper would not be required for that customization (though it may be a benefit for other reasons). In fact, since the change is to a db-stored WordPress setting, even Capability Manager could be deactivated after the WordPress role is configured as desired.

Feel free to follow up with any other questions.
