(If I've done it right) I figured out how to assign an editing role to a Role Group I created. Members of that group can edit any existing blog post. But they don't seem to be able to create new blog posts. Is this a limitation of the plugin or am I just setting it up wrong? Thanks.

A WordPress role of Author allows a user to create a new post and then edit their own posts. A WordPress Editor can create posts and edit any users' post. How do your desired permissions differ from those? I need to know what you're trying to accomplish before I can give directions.

This may not be possible but ideally I want users in this group to be able to edit any existing pages that I've assigned to them but not be able to create new pages (I think I've done this part fine) and also be able to have full control over blog posts, including new posts. Right now they can edit existing posts (just like they can edit existing pages) but they can't create new blog posts (just like they can't create new pages either).

(sorry I didn't see an edit button on the post above)
… so I guess what I'd like to do is for this group to have an editors role for assigned pages but have an authors role for blog posts? Is that possible? I haven't tried it yet but if not possible in one step, could a work around be to create the same group twice, once for pages and once for the blog?

You can give your group a General Role of Post Author in addition to the Page Roles they already have.
