I've added the page author role to the [WP author] group, and added the page associate role for the WP author group to a number of specific pages.

When an author tries to create a new page and assign it to a parent (which they get the correct list for) it always gets published with no parent (which I don't believe they should have permission to do).

Have I set something wrong here?

Thanks for the report. This is now fixed in the updated Role Scoper development code.
