Hi. Trying out the new 1.0.0 beta and having some errors come up when I create new groups and
Try to create new group in Users > Groups I get:
Fatal error: Call to undefined method ScoperAdmin::assign_object_role() in /home/domain/public_html/staff/wp-content/plugins/role-scoper/admin/groups.php on line 153
the group is created nonetheless, so no huge issue. Just a bug somewhere. I tried flushing the cache but still persists.
Otherwise. Seems a great update. I was only just starting to play with the previous version, and have to admit the sheer number of options was confusing me. This I think is better, as it better hides the less important options where they won't confuse me!
Intergrating help into the admin would be a great benefit (JS dropdown tips?), as I am constantly referring back to the user guide, getting confused, going back into admin, playing around, breaking stuff, etc.
the only plugin out there that can do any of the stuff I am needing, providing I can figure out how to do it…

I received this error when I tried to install the plugin:
Fatal error: Call to undefined method ScoperAdmin::init_role_assigner() in …/wp-content/plugins/role-scoper/admin/section_restrictions.php on line 22
Any ideas?

Ditto LorenW. I am also getting another similar error:
Fatal error: Call to undefined method ScoperAdmin::init_role_assigner() in /wp-content/plugins/role-scoper/admin/object_restrictions.php on line 29
At the moment I can't even open the restrictions and roles section.

Sorry, in the process of fixing another bug in beta 2, I introduced those. Fixed in Role Scoper 1.0.0 Beta 3.

Thanks Kevin. That does fix it. So far so good in my tests. At this point I have only found 2 issues. The first is that there are two ampersands in lines 531 and 237 in role_assigner_rs.php. After I removed those I got no errors.
The only other thing I have noticed is that the formatting in the "Reader" tab in the write/manage errors is off. For me at least. So far so good otherwise. I couldn't get beta 1 to work at all so this is a good step.

Thanks for the feedback.
Do you mean that you have no formatting in your Readers role tab, or that the formatting is wrong? Keep in mind that restricting the readers tab will block blog-wide readers (Subscribers) by default, but to keep Contributors from reading, you have to restrict the Contributor and Reader role. To keep Authors from reading by default, you have to restrict the Author, Contributor and Reader roles.

I am running Role Scoper together with Role Manager and when I tried to create a new Role with Role Manager I received this:
Note: Role Manager settings determine each user's default blog-wide capabilities. Since the Role Scoper plugin is also enabled, Term-specific or Object-specific Role Assignments may increase or decrease a user's actual capabilities.
Warning: Cannot modify header information - headers already sent by (output started at …/wp-content/plugins/role-scoper/admin/filters-admin_rs.php:1277) in …/wp-content/plugins/role-manager/role-management.php on line 95
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Loren

I ment that the formatting was off in the gui of the readers section. If I open the tab there is about 20 line breaks before the check boxes and text appear. It works fine, I just have to scroll down to see the data.

@Loren,
Thanks for reporting that error message. In my installation, Role Manager still creates the role successfully despite the misplaced RS messages and PHP warning. I have eliminated this nuisance for the next Role Scoper beta release.

Well, that's interesting. What browser are you using? How many users? Any with exceptionally long names? Beyond the extra line breaks, is the name spacing okay?
I haven't been able to duplicate what you're describing.
