Hi,

I have tried a couple of other Role managers, without success. I see role manager can do most of what I want from reading this site.

Can I reduce the Appearance menu to 1 item," Menus" using this plugin?

I want my editors to be able to add page items to the menus, but not change themes, or headers etc.

thanks

Yes, you can do that by assigning a Nav Menu Manager role to desired users or groups. This can be done for all menus (Roles > General) or for specific menus (Roles > Nav Menus).

However, for best results, please install the newly updated Role Scoper development code (1.3.35-dev). It includes the following bug fixes and enhancements:

  • BugFix : Non-Administrators could not edit Navigation Menus based on Nav Menu Manger role assignment
  • Feature : Navigation Menus option "List only user-editable content as available items" also filters editing/deletion/ordering of existing menu items

There aren't many other changes from 1.3.34, so this is a fairly safe development version to run with if you need to filter Nav Menu editing.
