Greetings and Hail Be to Thee, Oh Magnificent Plug-in Creator!

I installed your most-wondrous plugin about 15 minutes ago and have successfully used it to give a user with the role of Contributor (my sole test user besides Admin at this point) the ability to Edit only their own assigned pages and any child pages… and I gave them the ability to submit new pages.  (I don't think Contributors had this by default.  Pretty sure they could submit Posts before, but not Pages.)

So far, I'm very happy with this. You see, I'm setting this up for a church's website.  I want specific staff members to be limited to just their own cluster of pages.  And I intend for them NEVER to use "Posts" at all.  Pages only.

Now, to avoid confusion, I would like to REMOVE the ability for Contributors to actually Create or Manage/Edit Posts.  Is there some way I can do this?  Or must I assign them to a LOWER Wordpress Role ("subscriber" is the only one lower than that, I think) and then add in the page-related abilities again?   (I could do that, but I think if they saw their own roles as being "subscribers", that might be confusing.)

Thank you very much for your time!

<gulp />, I'm not sure I can live up to that introduction… but thank you sincerely for your confidence and kind words.

As you guessed, those users could be stripped of their posting abilities by demotion to the WordPress role of Subscriber.  Any page author/editor role you assigned individual users or custom user groups would still apply.  Of course, roles applied to the [WP Contributor] group would no longer apply - assign those roles to [WP Subscriber] instead.

If you want to avoid the "Subscriber" label, you could use Role Manager to:

a) Proceed with the steps above but rename the Subscriber role to something more flattering.

    - or -

b) Leave your users as Contributors but remove the "edit_posts" capability from the Contributor role

Ah, so Role Manager would be used for both of those options, eh?

OK, I'll go download and install that.

Thank you very much for creating this plug-in!   Folks may be using Wordpress heavily for blogging, but I'm thinking it will be of HUGE value to me as a Content Management System (focusing on static pages).

Take care!  And thanks again for making this available to everyone!
