I need to make everything restricted except the login page and provide some specific content to users in two different groups. I have set restrictions for reading on Posts, Pages, and my custom post types. I have set up a custom taxonomy of "Access Types" with three choices: Group A, Group B, and Any. I set roles for the A users to see Access Types Group A and Any and B users to see Group B and Any. However, an A user is now not able to see anything. Am I missing something?

Thanks.

Sara, your configuration glitch was the combination of term-assigned roles and page-assigned restrictions. Role Scoper regulates access based on a 3-scope model: site, term and object (page). Setting a restriction on a term role means the user must have a qualifying term-assigned or object-assigned role. But a restriction at the object scope can only be overcome by an object-assigned role.

After removing your Page Restrictions and instead restricting the Reader role for each Access Type term, access works as intended.
