I am trying to produce a website with wordpress for a client, and I am struggling to make it run as I like. I have role scoper running exactly how I need it, so that my "client" role group, can edit pages but not create them, but they are still able to see the "new page" menu item, and button on the pages screen. If they click on it then they get taken to a white page with "Wordpress 3.0″ on it.

Now I can see two possible solutions that would be acceptable to give to a client: either remove the buttons and menu item so they do not get to those pages, Or make those pages a bit more usable, i.e. it says "Access Restricted" but also shows the menu so they are able to navigate without having to press back.

Is anyone able to give me some guidlines as to how to do this?

That's due to some changes in the WP 3.0 menu logic. The fix is already coded but not yet released.

That's one of the reasons I wanted to get version 1.2.6 released this afternoon, but it didn't happen. You can run the development version for now.

Just tried testing it in WP2.9.2, and it fixed the menu. Will try the development plugin now. Does this also fix the "Add New" button on the pages screen?
