Our editor users are unable to save a nav menu. They are able to access the interface and edit a menu that has been created, but upon clicking "Save Menu" get the message "You do not have permission to update that Navigation Menu". Editors are able to assign/unassign a menu to a position, but cannot create new menus. Turning off Role Scoper does fix the issues, so is there a setting I've got wrong somewhere?

To enable editors to create new Nav Menus, assign a General Role of "Nav Menu Manager" to the group [WP Editor].

I must be having a slow day - I can't seem to find where to do assign a role to a group. This is a multisite installation and this needs to be global, not per-site. On the WP Role Definitions tab in the network admin options, editor does show Nav Menu Manager.

Network-wide role assignment is not currently supported. You'll have to either assign the Nav Menu Manager role to the group in each site, or find a way to add the "manage_nav_menus" capability to their WP role in every site.

Well, nothing appears under Nav Menu Manager in the Assign General Roles screen if I have the term scope for nav menus turned off, which was what was set as we were sticking to the edit_theme_options capability for editors to do menu edits, etc. Also, even after adding [WP Editor] to Nav Menu Manager (or the other way around, whichever it is), the editor is still unable to save the menu.
This previously worked just fine for us - not sure when it stopped working, as it was only recently noticed by editors

Okay, yeah, in one of the recent version updates I made some changes to correct Nav Menu filtering in the typical configurations, but forgot to account for your usage (edit_theme_options capability manually added to WP Editor role definition).
The updated Role Scoper development code (1.3.43-dev) includes a fix for that (though at the moment wordpress.org has not yet regenerated the zip).

Go figure - once again, I find some weird edge case and raise a stink about it! 1.3.43-dev works great for me (and 1.3.42 fixed the missing Gallery tab thing that somebody else noticed in the meantime). Thanks as always!
