I am using wordpress 2.9.1. and I just upgraded to the latest RC. Since then no categories show op in the usermenu (after they login) on the website.
Looks that wp_list_categories is not retrieving any data, just stating "no categories".
Snapshot 1.1.3 didnt fix it, nor did downgrading to RC 1.0.8 strangly enough. I've tried various changes in the options but no solution as yet. Please advice because no one of the 25 pupils can get to their online courses anymore.
Thx!
Role Scoper Version: 1.1.2 Database Schema Version: 1.1.1 PHP Version: 5.2.4-2ubuntu5.9

An update yesterday to the Role Scoper Development Snapshot fixed a bug that caused an empty Category listing when the Hidden Content Teaser is enabled (regardless of function arguments). But other than that, I haven't been able to confirm any problem with handling of the exclude argument.

It is 'just' a WP problem. There are more reports on it at the WP site.
If you eclude a parent all children are excluded too in the wp_list_categories, this occurred yesterday for the first time.
I upgraded to 2.9.1. yesterday and I upgraded RC. Therefor I thought in first instance it was a RC bug, but it isn't.

Is there a solution for this? I activated role scoper, and the NGG Gallery roles, because I want my client to be able to create and manage galleries but not have access to the theme, plugin, etc areas. However after I activated role scoper and the NGG Gallery roles, my categories have disappeared.
I didn't change any settings except making the editor role able to create galleries.
Is there a setting I can change to bring the categories back? It just displays "No Categories".
Thanks!

Can you post the template code which is generating your category listing?
What Category Restrictions have you applied?
What versions are you running? I don't see this on my test install with WP 2.9.1, NextGEN Gallery 1.4.3, Role Scoper 1.1.5 and Role Scoping for NextGEN Gallery 0.9.5.
