When the Role Scoper plugin is activated in Wordpress Mu, I am not able to return to plugin page as it throws an error

Fatal error: Call to undefined method stdClass::user_can_for_any_object() in /var/www/blogs/wp-content/plugins/role-scoper/admin/admin_rs.php on line 644

Also, the role scoper menu options do not appear while the plugin is activated. The only way I can get back to the plugin page is to remove the role scoper plugin from the folder.

I am running Wordpress Mu 2.8.1 with Role Scoper 1.0.4.1

Does this still occur with Mu 2.8.2 ?

I haven't been able to reproduce it in my 2.8.2 test install on a local server. Are you logged in with less than full Administrator capabilities in any of the affected blogs? Does the error happen on a site-wide activation attempt, blog-specific, or both?

Although I was not able to reproduce this error, I did make a change which may eliminate it. If you're interested, please try the updated Role Scoper Development Snapshot, soon to be released as RS 1.0.5
