Fred, I apologize for the slow response.

  1. Give your user a WordPress role of Subscriber.
  2. Give them a Page Editor role for the desired page (either in the Edit Page form or via Roles > Pages)
  3. Give them a Gallery Editor role for the desired NGG Gallery (via Roles > NGG Galleries)

Let me know if this does not work for you.

Hi Kevin,

Is it possible to limit such a subscriber to only change the existing images in 1 gallery, but not be able to 'create a new gallery'?

Hi Kevin,

I have been searching for an answer to this problem, but no sollution found. I am veryy sorry to trouble you with this question:

Is it possible with this plugin to : - restrict a page -editor or author, so he can change the pictures in an excisting gallery, - but not be able to create a new gallery?

Many thanks, diederik

I've just uploaded an updated version of the NextGen Gallery Role Scoping Extension. Now granting the Gallery Manager role for a specific gallery does not enable the user to add new galleries. There is still a nuisance bug present in that the "Add Gallery" menu item is still there, but it is now non-functional.

You can still grant a General Role of Gallery Author / Editor / Administrator to users who should be able to add galleries.
