Hi there!
I have recently downloaded and installed "Role Scoper" and "Role Scoping for NextGen" but I am new to both and am struggling to make it work as I need. For now I'm working on a local install to experiment and try things and learn how it all works. Below, I'll be defining what I want and what I tried if anything so far and the results these actions produced.
First, at the page level, I will be creating a number of users, each of which should have the ability to edit one and only one specific page each. Each user will have their own specific page so they cannot see other users' pages in the admin. I'll be creating both the pages and the users and assign a user to a specific page myself. In my test install, I created 2 users set to the basic WP subscriber role and, in "their" specific page, I gave each user the "Editors" role for that page. This worked in giving them access to that page and only that page in the admin. They do not see posts or any other config settings as is expected for a WP "subscriber" role user EXCEPT that they can see the Role Scoper "Restrictions" and "Roles" settings menu although with a very limited subset of options (only "Pages" and in there, only for "their" page). Is it possible to remove even that from the admin menu? I don't want them to play with that (not useful anyway) and it will confuse many of these users.
Secondly, at the NextGen gallery level, I haven't attempted anything yet as I couldn't figure out how to even begin. Ideally, I would like users to be able to create any galleries they want and have those galleries automatically assigned to them and them alone so they can add them to their page. Any help on how I would even begin to attempt that would be much appreciated.

Oh and one more thing I just realized, when one of my users edits their page, they should not be able to see any of the Role Scoper stuff at the bottom. Can that be removed as well?

Another thing I just noticed. When I log into WP as one of my users and go to edit their page, there's a warning that I (my admin username) is editing the page. Probably because I created it and am set as its author. But I cannot change the author setting to the author, probably because they are a simple subscriver as far as WP is concerned.
Should I then create a Roles Group and add my users to it and grant them more priviledges through the group?. OR should I set them as Editors in Wordpress, still create the Role Group and add them to it then restrict the Group's priviledges?
I would really appreciate some guidance here and am willing to pay someone to help me set this up (and teach me how for the future) once I sign the contract with the client. I'm testing and experimenting now so any general or more specific pointers would be greatly appreciated.

The recently released Role Scoping for NGG 1.0 fixes some significant compatibility issues with the current WP and NGG versions.

See Features > Content Maint and Advanced > Limited Editing Options in Roles > Options.

The "currently editing" warning is not dependent on the Post Author setting. It just means another user opened the page for editing recently.
To select a WP Subscriber as a Page Author, Roles > Options > Features > Content Maintenance > "Filter Users Dropdown" needs to be enabled. Only users who can edit the page will included in the dropdown.
Let me know if you still have unexpected behavior.

Unless you have another reason for users to keep the higher role, it's best to demote them to the lower WordPress role. Then use Role Scoper to selectively add content-specific roles. This approach provides the simplest admin configuration, lightest queries. It also provides the greatest security, since access will be default-blocked if Role Scoper is deactivated for any reason.
That last concern is also a reason to set post visibility to private even if you have also restricted the Post Reader role. In that case, Category Role assignments would need to be Private Post Reader (not just Post Reader).
