Hi,

I want all subscribers to access all posts from the blog only after log in.

I managed to do this by setting  a restriction to the WP_subscriber group but
I need to do this for every post.

Is there a way to set this globally one time and not for everytime I create a
blog post.

Thanks in advance
David J.

Hi,

Here is what I did:

I created a group called Subscribers Only

I made this the default group for new subscribers under defaults for User Groups

In the table wp_group_rs I changed the field value for group_meta_id to wp_role_subscriber (I just guessed at this one)

Under Restrictions/Posts I  made restricted  Post Reader, Post Contributer and Post Editor

I just need to know how to default the every new post for reading to assign to the group I created which is aliased as [Wp Subscribers] so I don't have to assign it for each post.

Thanks

David j.

If I understand you correctly, you can accomplish your goal by setting a Default Category Restriction on the Post Reader role:

1. Go to Restrictions > Category 2. In "Default for all Categories", check the Post Reader checkbox 3. Ensure that Restriction Mode dropdown is set to "Restrict selected roles" 4. Click the Update button

For this usage, you don't need to create any custom role groups.
