Hello All
I own a blog and I need authors/editors to upload pictures and other media but stop them viewing other authors media, pics, etc, just let them view their own media. Can someone please tell me how that can be achieved with this plugin and how to do it?

First off, thank you so much for this very important plugin!

It is coming in very close to fixing the major problem I am having with wordress!

I have a 3.3.1 WP install, and it's set so anyone can register. Everyone who registered is auto-created as an "author" - this gives them the ability to create on account, login and post a post with uploaded picture.

Using role scoper I ahve been able to eliminate MOST of the viewing of other users' uploaded images. It appears right now that all attached images to other posts by other users are hidden, but all (or most?) unattached images from other users are still viewable when a user creates a new post, then click upload/insert then the media library text/tab there.

I tried the above checkboxes both ways - selected and deselected - but logged in as a regular user on different computer, I can still see other users' unattached pictures that were uploaded.

This includes the admin's pictures that were uploaded through the media library for a theme header, and other users' pictures that were uploaded and wordpress auto-saved a draft.

This did also include any images uploaded by non-logged in users through the photosmash picture uploader - that were lated removed from the gallery by admin, but not deleted from the server. I ended up deleted the hundreds of "unattached pics" that were removed from the photosmash gallery - but I still have the issue of other user's and admins uploading pictures that are not attached to posts - still being visible to other users.

I am happy to donate to this much needed plugin - but it is failing slightly at this point.

Any ideas?

Hey Keniv, thanks so much for continual development of this - I can't even imagine how many bits of wp code must be considered when working on such a broad project as this!

I downloaded and installed the development version, and it does seem to hide the unattached media files from other users. With my testing, a regular user is still able to see unattached media files uploaded by the admin - at least the three images that were uploaded via the media uploader for theme header files - but this version does at least fix the privacy issues with other users not having thier files seen - so big thanks!
