Hello,
Here is my intended setup: i have several authors, each responsible for publishing posts in a given category.
1. I created a "test author" user to check if your plugin can (and i really assume it can) tackle this task.
Test Author has a WP role of "Author".
2. I set up in Restrictions > Categories that all categories be "restricted" beyond the private post reader RS role.
3. In Roles > Categories , i gave my "Test Author" the "post Author" role for the category i want him to write to ("Jobs").
All this makes sense to me. (and congrats for the flexibility of the system you've set up!! )
But, if i then log in as Test Author and intend to write a post, the categories box is empty and if i do publish the post, the post receives the default "none" category.
What am i doing wrong?
thank you for your precious time.
Alexandre
PS: suggestion: i think this need of mine of assigning authors to categories is an often desired setup, but i've roamed a lot through the internet and besides your plugin, there aren't any recent ones as far as i can tell which address this need. How about creating a "Role Scoper Lite" version, intended for that sole purpose? RS is an amazing plugin but it truly has quite a learning curve, if only because it took me a while to get around the terminology it uses (I'm not an English speaking native, so this might explain that
). Thank you once more.
