We recently started having a problem with file filtering. With previous versions of role scoper things worked just fine, users couldn't access attached uploads for which they didn't have the right permissions.

The other day we noticed this wasn't working anymore. We realized it was because recently we had changed all our pages from private to public, so we changed them back. For a few minutes it seemed to have worked, but all of a sudden we started getting an Internal Server Error when trying to open ANY uploaded file with ANY user (even admin).

If we deactivate role scoper or if we uncheck "Filter Uploaded File Attachments" the error stops happening, but of course we'd like to have this feature working.

Any idea why this could be happening? Could it be a problem with the server? I'm pretty sure it's the .htaccess file in the uploads folder that's causing this but I have no idea how to fix it.
