Hi Kevin. I just installed and activated Role Scoper (1.3.51) onto a Wordpress 3.3.1 installation. I got the following errors:

Notice: is_404 was called incorrectly. Conditional query tags do not work before the query is run. Before then, they always return false. Please see Debugging in WordPress for more information. (This message was added in version 3.1.) in C:\www\sites\hivpa\ehive\wp-includes\functions.php on line 3587

I also have Custom Content Type Manager (0.9.5.5) with three custom post types defined, and WP Survey And Quiz Tool (2.8.3) installed.

Role Scoper only calls the is_404 function when adding items to its Internal Cache. If this is truly the cause of your PHP Notice, there must be some incompatibility with your plugins or configuration. In that case, you can eliminate the notice by disabling the Internal Cache:

Roles > Options > Features tab > Internal Cache > "Cache roles and groups to disk"
