Link Category Restrictions

Hi there-

This plugin is pretty darn bomb-tastic!  The only thing that's been tripping me up is this issue with restricting roles on Link Categories:

I have created several roles, and successfully configured them for Post categories, but I have several Link Categories contained in my theme's sidebars in post archives.  Although users who are restricted are not able to view certain archives' posts, they still have access to the documents linked in the sidebars.  When I try to restrict the Link Categories themselves, the only roles that show up are "Editor" and "Administrator".  Text at the top reads:

Reduce access by requiring some role(s) to be Link Category-assigned. Corresponding General Role assignments are ignored.

When I choose the link, I get the message:

You do not have sufficient permissions to access this page.

Any clue why I would be seeing this for Link Categories, and not Post Categories, even though I am obviously a logged in Administrator?

Thanks!

Bump.  I know I've got User Roles restriction down for post Categories, but it seems like no matter what I try, I only have a choice of "Editor" or "Administrator" as Roles to modify for Link Categories - I can't seem to get my created Roles to show up.

Is this not supposed to be a part of the plugin's functionality? I've been doing some reading up on taxonomies, other plugins, etc, and I can't seem to find anything out about restricting Link Categories.  Thanks for any clarification you can provide.

Due to the nature of the WordPress core handling of bookmarks, Role Scoper only offers category-specific editing access for links.

I'm logging this as a feature request and could possibly review the WP code for a possible patch to support what you have in mind.

Could you outline the process for getting category-specific editing access to work for links? I've got roles restriction working nicely for posts (user can only post to the specified category), but I'm missing something in the setup to get links working. Currently, under Roles > General, I've got the user marked as Link Admin. This allows that user to see the links, but also add to any category.

Attempts at locking that user out of link categories that they don't belong to either removes their ability to post and/or see the link lists.

I'm assuming it's something simple… Thanks in advance for your help.

This was fixed in Role Scoper 1.3.5:

* BugFix : Link Admin roles / restrictions were not correctly applied per-category
