Hi Kevin,

this is a second problem I wasn't able to solve:

My (regular) users can't see "Authors" or "Editors" permissions when creating a new post or page, just "Readers".

setup:
All pages are restricted for everything but reading
a group "Section Admins" is granted "Editor" rights for this page and subpages
users in this group are WP-Subscribers
no default-restrictions or rights are in place
blogwide capabilities are not required for anything (refering to options>advanced>hidden editing elements)

the missing tabs are also not listed in WPs "screen options", whereas the "Readers" box is.

This, too, might be a config issue, which does not require an update for the software but for my brainware — which would be very welcome, of course.

Thanks a lot for any help.

On the "Advanced" tab of Role Scoper Options, make sure "Require a blog-wide Editor / Author / Contributor role" is disabled.

Well, that option should have accomplished what you wanted, but it wasn't working that way. Following the above instruction with the updated Role Scoper development snapshot should solve your issue.
