Hi Kevin,
I have acouple of blogs set up on the same server…using WP 2.8.4 and RS 1.0.8. Tried deactivating, deleting, upload and activating RS 1.0.8 to no avail. One blog seems fine, the other seems to have issues, see below.
I noticed a problem the other day (don't know how old it is, been through many RS versions) with Groups.
I have an additional Role (called Tutee) which has author like capabilities, and I have a few Groups defined within RS used for category restrictions. Well, the categories are all restricted to all to all roles, then either RS Groups or named users are assigned various capabilities within each category. This set up appears to work.
But when I was looking at the user listing (Authors and Users), it seems the listing of "Groups" is troublesome. As the admin user I have no group showing. But the vast majority of the users (with role Tutee) are given a Group [WP-Administrators]. I tried creasting a couple of users just now. I noticed that if I create a user with the default role (Tutee) then they get a Group [WP-Adminstrators]. But if I create a user with role Subscriber, then no Group shows, and if I edit the role to Tutee, still no Group shows.
Regarding the Groups set up within RS (to hel with category assigning), all users are attached to one or more of these Groups, but these Group names never show up in the Authors and Users listing.
Any ideas about this?
Cheers
