Hi Kevin,
Just noticed a problem with Subscribe2 7.1 and RS 1.3.53 (not sure how long the problem has been lurking). The list of categories the users can subscribe to is not being filtered correctly, it seems they show up if the user has post author rights in the category (set by RS), but not if the user has only read capabilites in that category (which would be the correct list).
Thanks

Hi Kevin,
I played around a bit with subscribe2, and managed to cobble together a fix. My programming is terrible, so I've no real grasp of why my fix works, and why I still see the problem I see without it. I kinda looked back at older versions of the plugin and experimented my way to a solution. But I think it's one for the subscribe2 author, so I'll try and contact him for some input.

Subscribe2 category filtering is fixed in Role Scoper 1.3.54.
This was due to the Subscribe2 UI moving from user profile to a dedicated plugin page. Thanks for letting me know.

Thanks Kevin, I'll give it as go, I guess that's what I'd done, try to restore the users ability to select categories by moving it the "profile.php" submenu aspect of the dashboard. I was baffled by why this would work, but hey, it did! Yours sounds a much better fix, since I can revert to subscribe2 updates etc.
