Restrict pages to specific users

We are setting up pages for clients, and we need to be able to restrict their page to a specific login.

We've encountered a few issues, and I'm pretty sure I just don't have the settings right.

The biggest issue seems to be with the anonymous reader role that if I restrict it, we can't read anything, and if I don't, they can read everything.

Is there a good breakdown of how the settings should be for a subscriber to be restricted to be the only one viewing the page (other than the page creator)?

Add this to your wp-config.php:

define( 'SCOPER_ANON_METAGROUP', true );

Then:

  1. assign the Subscriber / Reader role to group [Anonymous]
  2. restrict all roles which should not see the post

I made this a little arcane because it shouldn't be used except in situations like this where Anonymous users are the only ones who should see the content.
