Restricted pages are not hidden in the menu

I'm testing role scoper for a client. I've set up two users (Company A, Company B) and three pages: one user is assigned to two pages, the other user is assigned to one page. Under the 'readers' tab on the editor page I have selected:

Restrict for Page and Restrict for Subpage (are both needed, or just 'Restrict for Subpage?')

User is Company A, can access page and subpages

I created two menus to test - one is a new WP 3.0 navigation menu widget, the other is the regular Pages widget.

All three pages show on the WP 3.0 widget at all times - whether I'm logged in as admin or a user or not logged in at all. I only want a page to show in a menu/page list when a logged-in user has permission to read it - no other time.

In the options I've ticked the box beside 'Include Private Pages in listing if user can read them.' I assumed this meant that private pages would not be shown unless the user with permission was logged in, but it's not working. I tried setting the pages to Publish Privately, that made no difference in visibility.

In the other menu I made, just using the Pages widget, no pages are shown ever, no matter who's logged in or out. I've selected my 3 pages but they're not visible.

I don't think I'm understanding how this works - how do I set up RS so that in a menu, only a logged-in user with permission to read a page, can see a page link?

Concerning non-display of pages in the normal Pages Widget… Clicking the "restrict" checkbox for the Page Reader role means the page in question is only readable to those who have a role assigned directly for the page in question (using the Users/Groups checkboxes immediately below).

The "restrict for subpages" checkbox is used to apply such a restriction to subpages (present or future) without manually setting it for each page.

Concerning non-filtering of items in WP 3.0 nav menus… RS version 1.2.7 does not filter links displayed in the nav menus created in WP 3.0 via Appearance > Menu, but the newer release candidate code does. Try Role Scoper 1.3.RC2.
