For some reason went I have Role Scoper activated on my wordpress website the homepage slider stops working in both Safari and Firefox. It seems to work fine in Chrome and I don't have internet explorer.
Do you have any idea what could be causing this? When I deactivate Role Scoper the slider immediately works in all web browsers I have checked.
My site is http://www.youreviewit.com.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Apparently for some reason I can see the slider in Chrome but nobody else can. So it appears to break the slider for all users.
Any ideas?

Does the slider contain images which are attached to private or restricted posts?

Are you sure you have the same login in all those browsers?

Hi,
No I do not have any private posts on the site.
Basically I am using both Role Scoper and Capability Manager. I am using Capabiity Manager to take away all posting privleges and then adding back only the custom post type "review" with Role Scoper.
It seems to be the only way that I can get the default user roles from wordpress to go away for contributors and only allow them to post to 1 custom post type.
But for some reason whenever I activate Role Scoper the slider breaks. You can still view the pages and images on the page that the slider links to if you go directly to the URL but it just doesn't show up in the slider.
Perhaps there is a way to do what I am trying to do totally within Role Scoper?
Thanks so much!

I went ahead and restore everything to defaults for capibility manager and role scoper. It appears as though role scoper just kills the slider for anyone that isn't an admin…
I'm not sure why this is because I don't even have any settings of any kind set with role scoper. I just have it activated. The slider content is coming from a custom post type if that matters at all.

Oh yes, the only way it seems to work is if I use capability manager to give a role the 'activate plugin' ability.
If that is done then the slider works for the role. Doesn't really make sense to me but maybe it will lead you toward the issue…
Its definitely something with Role Scoper and my theme though.
Thanks again!

I don't have time now to try to reconstruct your configuration, but here are a couple suggestions. I assume you have somehow customized the custom post type's capability definitions. If so, you can stop Role Scoper from filtering that post type by disabling it in Roles > Options > Realm > Post Type Usage.
If attached images are involved, try disabling Roles > Options > Features > File Filtering.

Hey thanks a lot! I stopped role scoper from filtering the 'slides' post type and that did the trick.
I'll never need to filter that post type so the problem has been solved permanently. Thanks so much for your help!!!
