Hi, my name is Linus Larsson and I am a happy user of the RS plugin, and currently one of the web developers for a local gaming and roleplaying organization. We wanted a combination of tools to make editorial content and messaging, both public and private, but the hierarchies are not a steady route "upwards". The preferred rights for each user differ from segment to segment. Needless to say, RS has been a dream come true.
But we have stumbled into some problems. Firstly, it's the integration with bbPress. We do not have a separate install, but use the bbPress plugin within Wordpress. Forums, threads and replies are regarded as posts, and structured mainly using post_parent with this - or so I would assume.
The first issue is that users should be able to edit their own published posts, be it the first post in a topic or a post in the form of a reply within. We've been fiddling around with "post author" instead of "post reader", but it has given us expanded rights in other threads or forums. I would assume that RS is doing exactly what it should, but we fail to implement instructions correctly. I'll be happy to elaborate this further, but I don't know exactly which information is beneficial to you at this moment.
The other issue is that we have forums that users should be able to read, and reply to existing posts in, but NOT create new threads unless they have that right. "forum reader" seem to imply the right to create a thread as well, though.
The bbPress-plugin uses three new post types; "forum", "topic" and "reply". How this affects RS, I can only imagine.
Thanks for all your efforts thus far. I hope you may aid me in this conundrum as well.
Best wishes, Linus
