Hi

I have set up role scoper with some groups and some category restrictions, but apart from that the settings are default as far as I know.

The problem is that when I add a new user in the Subscriber role in the wp-admin, without adding them to any role scoper group or making any other changes to their account, they are able to see and use various functions in the wp-admin for example, creating posts.

The question is, do I need to change something else? How can I make the Subscriber have the same permissions as without role scoper installed?

Here is a screen grab of what a logged in Subscriber sees:

Thanks

George

It sounds like you have General Roles or Category Roles assigned to the group [WP Subscriber].

What does the user profile show when you're logged in as one of those subscribers?

Ok, yes that looks like the case. So how do I take these off and make sure they are not applied by default?

Go to Roles > General

Set assignment mode to "Remove"

Select group "{WP Subscriber]"

Select each role you want to remove

Click Update button
