I don't think I can support that feature for users who don't have upload_files blog-wide. For users who only have upload_files via a category-specific, page-specific or post-specific role, Role Scoper would have no basis for maintaining their right to administer and uploaded a file which is not attached to any post/page.

the uses have upload_files rights blog-wide. and if a user (non-admin) uploads an image it seems to work, but the user cannot see his image. but if the admin views the mediathek he can see the image. so in fact all i need to achieve is that the users can see the images they uploaded, because obviously they are on the server.

In a quick trial I wasn't able to duplicate this using the current development snapshot (rc9.9229). My non-administrator user (with blog-wide upload_files cap) could see their newly uploaded picture in the library listing. will try again tomorrow.

i've upgraded to version 1.0.0-rc9.9302 but i have still the same problem. i can upload the file and then i can enter a title but after saving the file still isn't visible in the mediathek (all with non-admin user). maybe there was a misunderstanding about blogwide file upload capabilities … how can i assure these capabilites? the user has the wordpress role "editor", which according to to the wordpress codex has rights for upload_files. or is there a configuration i need to do in role scoper in order to give the rights to the user when role scoper is activated?
thx for your help

The upload_files capability in your user's WP role should be enough.
What WP version are you running?

Okay, I confirmed that non-administrator could see the newly uploaded file in the "Unattached" list, but not in the "All" and "Images" list.
Fixed in the updated Role Scoper development snapshot (rc9.9303).
This revision also modifies the .htaccess rewrite rule for better wp-admin performance.

unfortunatley there has been no change with the new dev snapshot … as non-admin i cannot see the files in none of the 3 selection possibilities (unattached, all and images)
