Hi, I have a website that has products for sale for both the retail and wholesale markets. 

What I would like to do is to filter posts/products a user sees if they (the user) are assigned to wholesale pricing.

Basically anyone can see all posts but if a user is logged in and assigned to wholesale they will only see what posts/products are available for wholesale pricing.

I specifically leave out roles/categories/groups in the above example as I am unsure how to go about doing this and am open to any suggestions.

Craig,

It may be helpful for you to know adding the following code to wp-config.php (above the "stop editing" line):

define( 'SCOPER_ANON_METAGROUP', true );

…enables an additional metagroup - "[Anonymous]". You could then:

  1. use a simple WP role editor such as Capability Manager to create a role "Wholesale"
  2. restrict posts/categories
  3. assign a corresponding Post Reader role to [Anonymous] but not to [Wholesale]

Beyond that, your implementation questions are really outside the scope of this support forum (no pun intended). I am often available for consulting on issues like this, but don't have much availability through at least mid-summer.

Thanks for the reply and the advice.

Apologies for raising an "out of scope" question - I am just trying to get my head around the possibility of making my desired outcome true using the Role Scoper.

I will see what I can do with your advice and if I have any major success/breakthrough/enlightenment I shall let you know.
