After recently upgrading to version 2.7.1 - Role Scoper blew up. I then upgraded RS to version RC9.9227 which appears to have restored everything back and is working in WP 2.7.1.

However, a scoped role that has permission to only post/edit one particular category, is now getting the error: Your attempt to edit this post: "XXXXXX" has failed. whenever they try to publish a post. (this is only in Internet Explorer btw, FF works fine)

Also the post is actually saved as a draft, and it is marked as having the right category… and if the user then goes back into this post, they can publish the post and will not receive the error.

Weird, eh? Any help I can give on this, let me know.

I've corresponded with Rodrigo (other comment poster) about this. He tracked it down to security hardening on the web server which causes corruption of the referrers sent by WordPress Ajax javascript when the request is via an IE7 browser.

He said he now has it "mostly fixed" by hacking post-new.php, commenting out the auto-save feature. I'll let you know if I come up with a workaround in Role Scoper.
