Role Scoper Update Fixes Revision Storage
Some of you may have noticed that since installing Role Scoper Release Candidate 9, WordPress has stopped storing Post Revisions. In reality, the revisions were stored but a recently added Page Parent filter had the side effect of wiping out the legitimate post_parent value, which WordPress uses to tie a revision to the corresponding published post ID.
Today's Role Scoper update corrects that error. Any existing revisions stored since your installation of Role Scoper rc9 will remain unavailable unless you use a database editor/query to manually edit their post_parent value to the corresponding post ID.
This revision also fixes a few other minor bugs.
- BugFix : Post revisions not saved correctly (post_parent value set to 0), since rc9
- BugFix : PHP warning for htmlspecialchars_decode() when using RSS feed teaser message on a translated site
- BugFix : Tags filter did not support name__like, search arguments
- BugFix : PHP warning for array_diff_key() when calling get_categories with fields=ids

Thanks a lot for this (these!) quick update!
I was already getting headakes because Role Scoper wasn't playing nicely with More Fields and then even stopped working with WP(2.7.1)'s "screen options". Now everythings works excellent and I can switch Role Scoper's boxes on and off as I wish. (it took me some time to look for updates here, as I didn't get any information through WP's plugin manager…)

Hannes,
I plan to add Role Scoper to the WP Plugins Directory soon. Until then, you can find version update notices in the Roles >Options page of your wp-admin, and on the front page of this site.

Great great plugin. I have already called the headquarter to donate you.
BUT. Just one little big bug in the revision ##16 with WP2.7.1 cracked the create post admin panel in Internet Explorer 7. It never get posted, just saves a draft, calling to try again later. In fact, in some computers it works when the JavaScript is off on the browser. The post go to the drafts. There I have found that what's happening is that the post don't get a category. As the users only have access to one category, when they save the post and would get the second time the window in an editing mode, it blocks it access because it do not reconizes the role of the user to a post without category.
In fact, it's just like it do not pass the variable of the category to assign. Evety other browsers are ok.
Thanks for every bit of your work. Great!

Hi, I've been noticing a bug when posting from a scoped role, it won't let the post be published, but it apparently keeps it as a draft.
Reading these comments, it appears that I have the exact same issue that Rodrigo mentions two posts above me.
Is there a fix coming for this? Thanks!

I've corresponded with Rodrigo about this. He tracked it down to security hardening on the web server which causes corruption of the referrers sent by WordPress Ajax javascript when the request is via an IE7 browser.
He said he now has it "mostly fixed" by hacking post-new.php, commenting out the auto-save feature. I'll let you know if I come up with a workaround in Role Scoper.
