Role Scoper 0.9.9 Adds User-Requested Feature

Role Scoper Beta Revision 0.9.9 (code name Julien) is now available.

From its inception, Role Scoper has allowed for the creation of custom user groups. Content-specific or blog-wide roles can be assigned to those groups without regard to any user’s blog-wide WordPress role. However, in some cases it may be useful and convenient to assign supplemental content-specific roles to all users with a particular WP role. This revision adds that feature. Each WordPress role now has a corresponding auto-generated user group. These “meta” groups will appear in the role assignment interface alongside regular user groups.

This revision also includes two bug fixes:

  • fixed: Group Administrators were not granted appropriate access for group editing or role assignment
  • fixed: PHP4 was not detected on some servers (Ubuntu)

Thanks to scheiderbw for the Ubuntu bug report. As for Julien, I will leave the thanking to him…
