Role Scoper Beta Revision 0.9.14 is now available to correct several newly discovered bugs.
Most significantly, users who are a member of a group were subject to incorrect access because their cache was not updated following role assignment. This would have produced several symptoms, possibly including an incorrect category listing. However, category listing was also hindered by the default WordPress behavior (bug?) of suppressing private-only categories from the listing even if the logged user has access to those private posts. Role Scoper had been modifying the category list only for non-administrators; now administrators have the private categories filtered in.
Other bugs fixed in this release:
- fixed: Non-editor users could not select their own page as a parent if the desired parent is a child of an uneditable page.
- fixed: Object role selection UI was not highlighting users who have a role on the basis of WP Role metagroup “membership”
- fixed: In an as-yet-unexplained bug, one user had private posts included in anon user’s post listing (but not in direct access attempts). Added sanity safeguards should make this impossible.
Thanks to Jen, Tom, Marci and Ken for the bug reports.
